Teaching statement

One of the most rewarding moments in teaching is seeing the student makes a discovery that leads to self-growth. What makes people powerful is the ability to grow and keep learning. I strive to cultivate this ability by taking creative approaches to building musicianship. I enjoy helping each student achieve results in their musicianship that they can be proud of.

It's humbling to know that the journey of self-growth is never-ending. Learning music is a wonderful way of enrichening one's life with an art that integrates movement, sensitivity, self-expression, empathy and contemplation.

Testimonials

I’d taken theory / piano lessons from Kento - he was fantastic! He was great at identifying music that had solid educational merit which he knew I would enjoy. He was outstandingly patient; always willing to alter his lessons to what I was interested in, and schedule wise, very accommodating.
— William H, piano and music theory student.
